What this website collects, why, who handles it, and how to turn the optional parts off.

- There are no accounts, online payments or ads on this site.
- Two optional tools run unless you turn them off: Google Analytics and an error tracker. You can turn both off with .
- The sign-up form collects your name and contact details, only if you fill it in.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Who we are
Heritage Camp is the campground of the Indiana South District of The Wesleyan Church, in Orleans, Indiana. This policy covers this website, heritagecamp.org.
What we collect, and why
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how people use the site and find their way to it, so we can improve it. It records:
- pages viewed, how far you scroll, links you follow to other websites, searches on the site, and when you play an embedded video, download a file or use a form
- your browser, device and screen type, the website that sent you here, and an approximate location based on your IP address
It sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart, and it's set to remove email addresses from what it records. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.
Error monitoring (GlitchTip)
When something on a page breaks, an error report goes to GlitchTip, an error-monitoring service run for us by our web developer, Bearded Digital. A report includes the error message, the page address, your browser and operating system, and a short record of what happened on the page just before the error, such as the pages you visited and the buttons you pressed. For about 1 in 100 page views it also records how long the page took to load. It sets no cookies, and it's used only to find and fix problems with the site. As with any request your browser makes, the service receives your IP address.
The sign-up form (Zeffy)
The form on the Contact and Give pages is provided by Zeffy. If you fill it in, it collects your name and contact details (email address, phone number and mailing address) and stores them in the camp's Zeffy account, so we can stay in touch. Zeffy may set its own cookies when the form loads, and its privacy and security information applies to what it collects.
Rental inquiries (Google Forms)
The campground inquiry form linked from the About page is a Google Form. What you enter there reaches the camp through Google, under the Google Privacy Policy.
Videos (YouTube)
The recap videos on the camp pages come from YouTube, shown in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; once you do, the Google Privacy Policy applies.
Icons and server logs
Some icons on the site load from unpkg, a public content-delivery service, which receives your IP address and browser details the way any website you visit does. Our web host also keeps standard server logs — your IP address, browser, the page you asked for and the time — to keep the site running and secure.
When you contact us
If you call or email the office, we use what you send only to reply and to arrange your visit, stay or event.

The site itself sets no other cookies. Zeffy and YouTube may set their own when their content loads.
Your choices
- Turning off analytics and error monitoring. Both are on by default. To turn them off, choose Decline on the privacy notice, or use at the bottom of any page. That stops both in this browser and removes the analytics cookies. The choice is saved in this browser, so you'll need to make it again on another device, or if you clear your browser's data.
- Other tools. You can block cookies in your browser's settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Your information. To ask what personal information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, contact us using the details below.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the services named above, which handle it on our behalf, or when the law requires it.
Children
This website is meant for parents, church leaders and other adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Analytics and error data are deleted on those services' own retention schedules.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
